Basically we’re not wimps!
Last night Mom tried 2 times to send a text message to Omar (the Uber driver we met on Monday who offered to drive us to Teotihuacan pyramids aka “the guy who gave Mom his phone number”). We half-heartedly worked on Plan B in case Omar didn’t show up but both of us believed in the Universe and our ability to pick out good people. Luckily for us, Omar is a great guy who, like me, will be where they say they are going to be and when, i.e., not a flake!
SHOUT OUT TO OMAR for a) showing up this morning to pick us up! b) being helpful as we trekked through the pyramids – translating for me, helping Mom up and down the inclines and c) being great company overall. This was by far one of the best days we’ve had in Mexico City!!!
Here’s the 3 of us:

There’s a lot of walking involved as we went to not one, not two, but 3 pyramids! I think it’s appropriate to say “Mamá, mis duelen mis patas.” {See previous posts for the joke}
I really enjoy this type of tourist attraction – one where you’re transported back in time and can actually walk around where countless others have walked before you. It’s nothing like looking at a painting – in this blogger’s opinion. My mom may disagree but she’s the artist, I’m just the writer.
This is my favorite photo from today from the top of the Pyramid of the Sun (216 feet high)… I think you can tell how massive the space is and how small one can feel there.

We also got to go to a more hidden pyramid, Temple of the Feathered Serpent, which even Omar hadn’t been to before.

We ate lunch at La Gruta which is an underground grotto of sorts. The menu had ant eggs and though Mom was tempted to order them, I’m done eating adventurously on purpose.
Today was long and tired me out but it was such a good day that I will never forget climbing los pirámides because “no se rajan.”
