I’m definitely in the U.K.

You can tell by the following hints: they use pounds (£), there are red telephone booths everywhere, and the English flag flies high.

I’m now in Edinburgh, Scotland!!!

Scotland is so cool. And not because they have Uber (Ireland, catch up!) but because there are tons of cool streets with lots of old buildings and Edinburgh even has their own castle which I checked out today after checking into my hostel (Budget Backpackers). I got to see the Scottish royal jewels but no photos were allowed. The first picture is the castle as you walk up to it – Scotland reminds me of Lisbon where streets go not only horizontally but also vertically. One can definitely get lost here and I plan to do just that…don’t worry, Google maps will help me out in a pinch!

I’ve booked a tour to Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle and the Kelpies for Sunday 08 July. There’s one for Loch Ness but it didn’t include a castle and I figured that’s why I came to Scotland, to see where Mary Queen of Scots called “home.”

I found a supermarket and have made my own dinner for the FIRST time since traveling. Well, except that first night in Dublin where I was super sick and needed to get some chicken noodle soup in me – and no, I didn’t make the soup from scratch. Most of the grocery stores carry pre-made items because apparently Europeans don’t like cooking??!

Tonight I’m sitting at the hostel bar and mapping out the places I want to go to. There’s lots of old (read: haunted) history here so I’m sure I’ll find something for each day I’m here.
