I awoke this morning feeling much more rested than I did a couple of days ago. But I’m still reeling (in a good way) from the fun night out in Sevilla with my fellow Californian, Angie, who just moved out of San Diego. My luck. This girl is cool and we’re both local SoCal so I have a feeling we’ll stay connected.
I did the free walking tour today in Córdoba. It wasn’t the best one I’ve been on but the tour guide stressed that it was only her second time doing a tour in English. Mad respect for someone who can stand up and do that in a second language. I saw a lot of the outside of buildings but am struggling to find the motivation to go inside. I think I may be giving myself a reason to come back here.

After the tour, a girl from my hostel (French…they really like Spain apparently) and I went to a tapas restaurant recommended by the tour guide. We shared salmorejo y berenjenas con miel (eggplant with honey). And I also got patatas bravas (spicy potatoes). She ordered pulpo (octopus) and even let me try some. Not my favorite but surprisingly tasty – usually octopus is too “chewy” for me. And then, we walked back to the hostel where I proceeded to take a siesta. On the way back, we stumbled upon some palm trees and this reminded me of California. Like a lot. I think I really am missing home.

Now, I’m sitting on the rooftop and just enjoying the day cooling down. At 8p there is free sangria and I never miss an opportunity for free food or drinks. Like ever. Hahaha.
