Author’s note: I had zero intentions of blogging today. In fact, I started writing in my personal journal, but things beyond my comprehension and will made it so that I’m giving you, Dear Reader, a glimpse into my head. Enter at your own risk. Fun experience awaits you at the end of this entry. Enjoy. Muchisamas gracias for reading!

Today Grandma would have turned 92 years old. I’m ashamed to admit I don’t spend too much time thinking about her in my day-to-day life. I guess it makes me sad to know she was taken away from us too early – way too early. I know she’s always around because I always feel her love and protection, especially when I travel. Always
I didn’t plan to blog today (and this started off in my journal) but Grandma wants me to keep writing and turn my adventures into books. Book #1 title: I CAN’T FLY THE PLANE, I’VE BEEN DRINKING. Book #2 title: YOU KNOW YOU’VE BEEN NAUGHTY WHEN THEY BRING OUT THE HOLY WATER.
As I begin to write this entry, Grandma sent me a 2nd sign so I know she must be serious. Today, Maye took us to a Loncheria in town that only the locals know. From what I gather, a loncheria is a cafe-style restaurant that serves a limited menu but everything is handmade. It’s probably where Maye got her “homemade” flan from jajajaja. Anyway, I ordered a shredded beef torta and a side of fries. At least I thought I did and even Maye helped translate what I was asking for. When I’m tired or hungry, Spanish sounds like the parents on Peanuts gang. The waitress comes back with my torta and whole plate of taquitos for me as well. No way! I wanted fries with my sandwich. When she finally brought the fries out, even before tasting them, I looked at Mom and exclaimed, “these are just like Grandma’s fries!”
My Grandma died in 1999. I was 16 going on 17 years old. She was only 69. It rocked our entire family to the core. Today, April 7th would have been her 92nd birthday. What a strange thought.
The second sign from Grandma came in the form of a single whale swimming along the coast. It’s off-whale-season and I only stopped writing in my journal because I saw everyone get up from the condo complex and head towards the shoreline. Enjoy the photo and videos below. Courtesy of Grandma Artemisa – I miss you mucho.
