Saturday morning we hitched a ride with Ray and Bonnie to the Farmers Market. San Jose is really a small town and a lot of the people that were there last week were also there this week. It’s fun to walk around and people watch. It’s not fun to run into the Band Groupies from La Osteria – they were even more annoying completely sober. Jajajaja. Our first stop was the Crystal Lady because she has the coolest crystals. I bought 3 from her and so glad she takes credit cards because I am running out of pesos (figuratively, not literally). This time one of the crystals communicated with me in a completely unexpected and amazing way. Ray laughs at our collective mumbo-jumbo but magic is only for those who believe! Since it was our last chance to get to the Farmers Market (we go home Wednesday afternoon), we stopped at the Argentina empanada kiosk and the jugo fresco (fresh juice) stand for breakfast. And yes, empanadas are breakfast food; they have dough, meat, spices and chimichurri sauce. Breakfast of campeones!

After draining all of our energy supply at the Farmers market – in a glorious way – we came home and just lounged around. Cleansed our crystals by smudging them with sage and watched a documentary on PBS about Britain’s Royal Residences. You’re probably wondering how we are watching tv here…. well the condos all are connected to cable and there’s quite a few channels. However, the cable channels are all Canadian and none are in Spanish. Go figure, eh?!
At 6p, Ladies Night started off at the best al pastor tacos place in San Jose. I tried 1 chorizo taco and 1 al pastor taco. Oh my god, they live up to the promised hype! And for $6 USD a person (including drinks), you can’t get a better deal. I tell you, Mexico has got it going on. It doesn’t get nearly enough credit.
Ladies night continued at Maye’s patio with an almost full moon. Some of us are looking forward to making power wishes on the full moon in Scorpio coming up on the 26th. Lots of drinks, lots of giggles and I even taught them “f*%&, marry, or kill.” Except Nancy, the Canadian, had issues with the word “kill” (and probably the “f*%&” part) so we renamed it “sleep with, marry, or harm.” Canadians are really super nice. For those that don’t know, the game is played by providing the names of 3 people and another player assigns them to one of the categories: sleep with, marry or kill. For example, I chose Justin Trudeau, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump because Nancy is not a fan of Trudeau. The dislike (I would normally use the word “hate” but I think I should make it Canadian-friendly) is strong. She opted to harm Trudeau (did not see that coming!), marry Trump and sleep with Putin. The rest of us had similar assignments: sleep with Trudeau, marry Trump (for the money obviously) and kill Putin (still salty with election interference from 2016). Sorry, not sorry for introducing them to this game!
Tomorrow we’re gathering for a quick power wish session since the full moon peak is 9:31pm Cabo time. Nancy won’t show up that late unless we burn something – she is the second Canadian to want to burn something so for my sample size n=2, I’m beginning to think there’s a hidden pyromania aspect to Canadians. Maybe their niceness has a blazing edge to it?! Noting this for the “if I ever become a Canadian” file, along with learning to dislike Trudeau. Let’s be honest though, he’s still very attractive, however inept he may be.
