As with all vacations, staycations or temporary residence relocations to the Mother Land, it’s time to go back home. I have seen so many things and experienced more than enough to keep this little blog chugging along for the past month! And I’m excited to get back out into the world (when US passports are accepted again). This feels like the appetizer to a main course – just enough to get the taste buds going, or in my case, just enough to be diagnosed with a serious bout of wanderlust. Last night Mom and I sat in the lounge chairs at the pool enjoying wine and reminding ourselves of all we have done over the last 30 days. The list of memories is endless and if you’ve kept up on the blog (even better if you Dear Reader are a Subscriber), I hope these make you smile just as much they make me. In no particular order, La Lista del Recuerdos:
- 2 different whale sightings off season. One of those being a bonus sighting because I got a photo of the mom and baby whale’s tails during a diving lesson.
- The time we saw a FREAKING METEOR blaze over the Sea of Cortez.
- My family: Tia Maye, Primo Paul, Spirit Animal Catalina & Ana who showed us a good time off the beaten path. I hope we didn’t wear out our welcome and yes, I’m gonna learn to drive myself around even if it’s terrifying AF!
- Power Wish Moon Parties x 2! Thank you to everyone (Nancy, Bonnie, Lori, Maye, Mom) who allowed me to introduce them to Lunology with open minds and most importantly, open hearts.
- That time Mom and I did brujeria stuff. Saying it now, should I forget to say it before going home: Spirits, you do not have permission to follow me home. Always helpful to tell spirits they aren’t wanted. Boundaries are important, even in supernatural cases.
- An ever changing landscape of calm, turbulent, tiny, grande waves coupled with a rainbow palette of skies. That view will never get old. Seriously check out the pink sunset on Monday from the photo above.
- Best day ever at the ranchito and private beach. So many beautiful seashells collected and I tried really hard to give some back but they all spoke to me. So I’m taking them home for some California air/sunshine.
- Shopping at Encanto Mexicano and meeting the owner Karina. I’m coming back to visit when I can. Support local businesses!
- That best beach day ever where the burros came right up to the car. Seeing Catalina be amazed and scared at the same time reminded me of being a kid and taking in new experiences. Guess that’s why I travel so much!
- My new friends Bonnie, Ray, Bert, Nancy and Lori. Thanks for including us in your gatherings and even letting us hitch rides to the Farmer’s Market. I’m sorry to all your kids for teaching you ladies a silly little game (toned down for my Canadian friends: “sleep, marry or harm”). I’m still shocked Nancy wants to do everything but sleep with Trudeau. I have a feeling you’ll play it again one of these days and think fondly of me.
- Wow…..and so many more memories!

Thank you Mexico for you kindness. For the beautiful people and delicious food. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy a month here. Thank you for letting me practice my Spanish (it’s getting better) and for letting me slow down and enjoy life. I’ll be back soon… promise!
And thank you to all my readers who eagerly follow along on my adventures! Keep the likes, the text messages, and comments coming. I write this for US! Jai yen yen! Or mantenga un corazon frío! Hey, I said my Spanish was better. But still not as good as my 2 year old spirit animal Catalina. Jajajajaja.
