“I need to edibilize myself”

Wow, it’s only been about 2 months since I last blogged, sick as all hell, from Mexico. Lots has been going on for me and I find myself in 3 escrows while on vacation to catch a cruise ship to Alaska! I don’t recommend it, at all. The multiple escrow part. I’ll let you know how Alaska goes but I might be biased; it had me at ‘killer whales in nature’.

Ah, now back to the Alaskan Cruise. My parents (Marta and Rudy) and I have been trying to go on this cruise for 2 years! But then, dang Covid. So now, we are finally going sailing. But first, let me catch you up…

Yesterday, my boyfriend David and I found ourselves at the airport headed to opposites ends of America. He’s a new character to this blog and still technically pending acceptance of his application for “Amy’s pre-approved travel list”. But having an airport buddy is one of the things I miss when traveling solo. After having breakfast with my parents and boarding our respective planes, the Gonzales Crew was on our way to Seattle for 2 days before the cruise.

We went to Elliot’s for oysters and I’m so glad we all got out of our comfort zones to try new things – oysters, crab cakes, mussels. Seafood galore! Funny fact: I still need to ask David what fish I like to eat – it all blurs to one category for this seafood novice. But I can learn.

Today started off with a sinus headache that was quickly triggering a migraine (I’ve been under a lot of stress lately selling my condo and buying a house). So medicated with migraine medicine, I went back to sleep before our walking tour.

About an hour later, we head to the walking tour meeting point and get a history of the Public Market.

Yes, the one that shows people throwing and catching fish. Though today, we witnessed one catcher missing. And instead of making her feel bad, they gave her another chance. And she made it!

Famous (& really disgusting) gum wall

Post market tour, we head to breakfast and then spend time walking through the market. Eventually finding a psychic chicken who tells your fortune. I mean, isn’t that just right up my alley??!

During our self-guided tour, I got an email about escrow people needing more information from me. At least I’m on mainland and have reliable internet, but two 10 minute walks to Chase was not how I wanted to spend my vacation. Real estate stuff, done.

Nice nap and a very nice Italian dinner later, I still found myself in desperate need of weed. Today was a real doozy in more ways than 1! So I dragged my parents to the pot store because, ‘I’m an adult.’ The picture below is David reminding me that it’s OK to just take a breather. I don’t have to be Superwoman. I already know how fierce I am!

The folks stay outside the pot store. I respect their beliefs. So I get some gummies to share with mom and ask the guy a very particular question.

“Do you have a pre-roll for someone staying with their parents?”

“I got you,” he says as he nods and walks away.

Picking up my additional supplies, and awaiting a promised cerebral high, I’m feeling good. Like really good. Tomorrow is another tour and then we board the cruise ship on Friday. You’ll want to see what tomorrow’s tour entails!
