All morning on the news, we kept hearing about the heatwave happening in Seattle and how people are having to stay cool. So googling the weather, I find it’s only 88 degrees MAX and they are struggling – clearly they have never spent time in Riverside where it gets over 100 during the summer. Guess what Seattlites, you’ll survive and get back to your rainy and cold weather soon enough. I almost wish it were now since I only packed for cold Alaskan weather.

At 10am, we arrived at the Space Needle for our designated tour window and headed up on the longest elevator possible to the observation deck. Riding high up while riding high. What amazing views, but the rotating floor made me really nauseous and ‘Space needle sickness’ was not something I wanted to experience more than I needed.

We even had our picture taken but Mom didn’t follow through on funny faces protocol. Hahaha.

Our Space Needle tour also included admission to the Chihuly Garden & Glass house which had so many pretty pieces of glass… wish I could afford something cool but even the small bowls start at $6500! We grabbed lunch which included a plastic carafe full of red wine… mom faded her cross and then headed to Target for some last minute cruise ship items before we set sail tomorrow to Alaska. Below are some of my favorite pictures from Chihuly.

On to our next adventure but if the last few days of laughing and vacation-mode relaxing is any indication of how this trip will go, then it’s going to be a once-in-a-lifetime memory with some of my favorite people, Mom and Dad (the first people to have been accepted into my pre-approved travel companion program).
