Making friends as the “Mexican Kim Kardashian“

Day 2 was a sea day so we didn’t do much except eat and drink. I am reading a book in Spanish and enjoyed a few minutes in the hot tub – it was crowded and should have been called a “warm tub.” Maybe I’m not a cruise person after all.

After a brief siesta, we got ready for our Chef’s Table experience. It was formal night so we put on our best clothes and joined the rest of our table mates for a dining experience. If you don’t know what Chefs table is, it’s a 6-course meal with wine pairings for each. This is important to note because it is a lot of wine! More on this later.

At dinner, we made some new friends: Mike (a widower from Arizona – we shared a cry about cancer), Crystal & Steve (a married couple from Ohio) and Rose & John (a mother/son duo). The rest of the table was uninspiring so they don’t get a mention.

After dinner, we went with Mike to his suite room so we could see how the other half lives. He gets 4 water bottles a day – almost as precious as gold when traveling around Mexico. Once we left Mike’s, our new friends Crystal and Steve went with us to check out karaoke at the top-level deck. We ran into John (of John & Rose) and met a group of Australians who had been obsessed with the fact that David looks like Tony Stark. They also told me that I look like Kim Kardashian! Compliment? At least the Aussies think so!

Too many drinks later, we went to our room and slept. And awaited our next port: Cabo. But not the Cabo I know. The tourist Cabo. My Cabo is the real one. Jajajaja
