They said “yes!”

A lot has transpired since my first blog post and a lot of prep work has been done for this adventure (namely asking my parents to take care of Lola).

I wanted my parents to know I put a lot of thought into this decision so I created a PowerPoint presentation on my plans. I included this picture of Lola…and who could resist this puppy??! I told my parents individually by buttering them up with their favorite things – Mom got macaroons and wine and I took Dad to Crab Hut. Both took it very well and both agreed they would watch Lola.

No turning back…so tipsy on some wine, I booked the first leg to Vancouver. Yes, I will finally cross Canada OFF my list – it always seemed too close to “home” that I usually have avoided it on every other trip. My general plan is to head from Canada to Dublin. The only requirement is to make it to Lisbon by 12 Sept 2018 for a return ticket back to the US. After that, a vacation from my extended vacation to regroup and recharge back in the States. And then… heading back out below the equator!

I still haven’t found the right time to tell my Boss. Hopefully she’s cool and understands that it’s kind of her fault for giving me a “1,000 places to see before you die” desk calendar. It really got me thinking that NOW is the time!!
