If you follow me on Instagram (@goamesgo), then you already know where I am. I couldn’t help but take a screen shot of where in the world my Google maps blue dot is. Here are some hints for those that like playing this guessing game:
- There are a lot of bikes – something like 50% of the population bikes around. In fact, there are bike highways and even bike parking lots.
- Beer is allowed on the street. In open containers. No brown bags. Just pure, have at it.
- The coins have holes in them. I have no idea why..maybe you’re meant to put them on a string around your neck so you don’t lose them?!
Ok, ok. I’m in Copenhagen, Denmark.
For those that are curious, this marks the 17th country I’ve ever visited. By the end of this adventure, I plan to be at or above 30 countries. And if not, you know I’m already planning future vacations/holidays.
Did I not mention that this is a city made for biking?! And although it appears that bikes are not locked up, there are discreet bike locks on every bike. Somehow though, I don’t see bike stealing being an issue if mostly everyone bikes. Unless you’re some jerk who’s bike broke and you can’t afford a new one. Although, according to my walking tour guide, life in Denmark is really good for its citizens – college is paid for, universal healthcare and numerous social programs for those down on their luck. Yes, today started off with a 2.5 hour walking tour of the city. We saw EVERYTHING and even had some good history lessons about Denmark’s past and insights into the Danish people. My favorite part was Nyhavn (or the New Harbor) with it’s colorful buildings. Imagine what this might look like at night…never fear, I plan to venture out to find out.
Also, I feel like the 2nd picture might make a really good jigsaw puzzle. Need to look into that when I’m stateside. It’s hot again but there is a nice breeze so I’m not dying yet. Oh, and everything is really expensive here. I’m glad I’m only here for another 3 days and then I’m off to my next destination or Country #18!
Loving your blog, Miss Amy ❤️
