#weddinggoals

On Friday, I took the train from Montreal to Ottawa. While en route, I got invited by Cate to her non-hen do/ hen do thingy. For non-U.K. people, that’s like a bachelorette party. I get the sense it was not a hen do because Cate values her sleep. As someone struggling with jet lag (the struggle is real y’all), I was more than happy to meet up with the ladies for a chill evening and post up in my Airbnb watching Netflix. I even made a new friend and was happy I went because I knew people at the wedding and didn’t have to dance alone. Though I probably would have and laughed it off as being a crazy American. Speaking of, I might have been the only American at the wedding. And we all know I do like to stand out once in awhile.

The day of the wedding was spent sleeping in and figuring out how to do my hair. I think my entire ensemble came out really nice so I’m posting a picture here so you can tell me how pretty I am.

Now onto THE BEST WEDDING I’ve ever been to – so good in fact that should I ever get married, I will be borrowing a lot of ceremony ideas from Cate. The officiant warned us that it would be a truly different experience. They prepared a question and answer kind of lead-in to the vows:

Example: Do you Cate, promise to let Tyler ask any and all questions he can think of without telling him to “fucking google it?”

Everyone was laughing and having a grand time with it all! The funniest part happened when the officiant kept calling Tyler (the groom), Taylor. And multiple times people whispered Tyler to the poor guy. I’m sure the wedding photos will show a lot of laughing and smiling wedding guests. Dinner, drinks and dancing followed the ceremony and the rain did not dampen anyone’s spirits. What an amazing time I had at the Wedding of the Century! I am honored to have been included and even made some new friends!

I’m currently on the train back to Montreal for 1 full day and then I head to California on Tuesday. Kind of a short trip to Canada but I feel like I’ve seen so much of it that I want to preserve the newness of it all. Besides, Lola and I will have lots to explore when I get my Canadian geeen card because even though I didn’t meet a guy at the wedding, Cate said she and Tyler could adopt me. 💜
